Type of farm?
I would like to remain close to the Atlanta metro area if possible, but I'm willing to relocate further away for the right opportunity.

Vision/Goals for the Land and Business
I want to build a sustainable business that creates healthy soil and thereby creates top quality food and a long-term income. I have been greatly inspired by J. Russell Smith's 'Tree Crops' and I want to build a farm in that image.
I have a girlfriend, no pets.
I began farming in 2013 and have gained an immense amount of experience since then. I have been in my current position as a livestock/orchard manager for almost two years on a non-profit teaching farm in Morgan County, GA. Currently I manage 120 acres of pasture (80 of those acres were cut over timberland when I began), a small but growing herd of beef cattle (30 momma cows, 50 animals in total), 200+ laying hens in a mobile coop, and a small diverse fruit/nut orchard. I am well versed in operating tractors of various sizes and have many hours of experience with many different implements. I believe in growing healthy food through building healthy soil and I don't believe in using herbicides or chemical fertilizers. I have transitioned the current herd that I manage to a 100% grass-fed/finished diet and have trained my co-workers to be able to handle animals humanely, to understand the principles of management intensive grazing and to harness the power of forage. Aside from cows and chickens I know my way around pastured production methods for hogs, meat chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats and rabbits. I am looking for a new opportunity that would allow me to build a new business or build equity in an existing business. I'm also very interested in developing agroforestry production systems. I love my current job, but I got into farming to have something of my own one day.
