Location Specifics We are 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh, & Erie PA. About 1.5 hours from State College PA. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Pennsylvania you'll find our farm stretched out across our plateau. Our cows will greet you and the chickens will send you off with their notorious cackle!

Food Provided Apprentices have access to our larder within reason. No fillet mignon sandwiches for lunch! Meals are provided. Some meals (all dinners) will be with the family, others will be done on your own with supplies given.

Education Potential The apprentices will learn all aspects of Farming while on Heritage Farm. From the ins and outs of pastured poultry, rotational grazing for both sheep and cattle, struggles and successes of Marketing, and how it all works together. From fence building, water maintenance, to castration we'll do it all and teach as we go! Apprentices also get the opportunity to learn the art of butchering from our team. This knowledge is an asset to anyone from the home chef to an aspiring farmer! We processs chickens weekly May-October, turkeys through the summer, lamb in the fall, pork throughout the year, and beef in the fall. All the apprentices are well versed in butchering by the time they are finished here.

We specialize in Pastured Poultry (Broilers and turkey),Pastured Eggs, Grass-fed Lamb, Forest foraged pork, Grass-fed Beef. We have our own inspected On Farm Butcher Shop. All cutting and packaging is done here on farm! We offer an Apprenticeship Position March-December annually with possible extension.
