FSO has been able to achieve this number in past seasons and the goal of the QA Manager is to demonstrate a reduction in this cost through competent This position will function as the primary interface between the Pickers and Packing Shed. The QA Manager reports to the Production Manager (PM) in regards to completing daily harvest and packing activities. This position helps all pickers be successful by improving their picking rate and quality over time. · The QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring high quality and sufficient quantities of produce picked daily. The QA manager works directly with Pickers and other managers to verify the appearance and sizing/grading of products harvested. Training new hires and volunteers: This position will learn all harvest techniques and product specifications. These parameters will then be demonstrated during training (both new hire and ongoing) performed for all Pickers. Parameters include harvest equipment, hand techniques, quality of product, grading/sizing, and handling practices. This position will ensure all personnel receive food-safety and workplace safety training. This will include implementation of training (both new hire and ongoing) for all personnel and verification of training completion (signoff documentation). This position will maintain copies of the field maps and direct Pickers to correct blocks in the field. This position will ensure the correct blocks are picked each day, in the sequence agreed upon by the PM and other managers. Data Verification/Validation: The QA Manager will check each lot of harvest from New Pickers who have not yet completed their approval period. The QA Manager will report back to the PM and/or other managers regarding the progress and technique of New Pickers. The QA Manager will spot check approved Pickers to ensure continuing accuracy, quality, and technique. This position will be responsible for managing data entry and formulas on the daily Harvest/Cosecha google spreadsheet and other production spreadsheets. Responsible for checking accuracy of records entered by new and approved Pickers. management of labor resources. This position will support up to 12 or more field pickers and organize multiple volunteers on any given day (with the planning agreed upon with the PM). This is a full-time position that may extend through the summer season, depending on success of the manager during Spring 2017. Hours range from 60+/week during the high season (March-May and Oct-Dec) and 40hrs/week during the low season (July-Sept) Requirements: Must have experience as a supervisor of 10 or more employees and at least one season working in the agriculture/horticulture industry. Must demonstrate an attention to detail in all work capacities (training, recordkeeping, communication). Must demonstrate capacity to use digital recordkeeping software as well as speed and accuracy at data entry (using tablets and cloud-based spreadsheets). Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills. This position will work in a fast-paced dynamic environment that requires an ability to perform well under pressure and extreme conditions. Must be able to lift 50lbs at a time, efficiently perform repetitive tasks, and work outside in inclement weather (rain/wind/heat/cold). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Willingness to learn and work in two languages is required. Must be able to arrive to work on-time when scheduled. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Must be able to work all day in a tobacco-free workplace. No tobacco products are allowed to be consumed on-site. Must be able to complete a criminal background check prior to beginning work.
