Food is and should be provided as far as possible from the farm:
Vegetables; fruits, grass fed beef, eggs, homemade bread, fish caught from surrounding lakes and rivers ( trout, bass, pike , salmon, perch) , homemade cider....etc
student/apprentice should be 18-30 years old approx.
- tuition : $ 20K/year, paid quarterly, schooling 5 days/week in winter and as needed in summer
- work: 6 days/week in summer ; 5 days /week, max 1hr/day (chores) in winter:
- driver's license + vehicle if possible
- health and auto insurance on own vehicle
- absolutely no drugs or substance abuse and no smoking during work
- motivated to both study and work physically
Learn how to raise grass fed beef, maintain an improve soil fertility, by composting and organic fertilizing, as well as produce and preserve basic foods by going through all the steps from the soil to the plate the shortest and most natural way possible.
Will also provide cooking lessons using farm products. (cuisine du terroir)
Organic and sustainable low tech methods, "as simple as possible but not simpler" , with a strong work ethic and a sense of order.
In addition: free admission to our Judo school twice weekely

What we do not offer: Industrial agribusiness style education; not affiliated with any college at this time.

Passionate about farming since my youth, with an agricultural degree from Switzerland ( Ag-tech Engineer HTL), worked on many very different operations in Switzerland, France and USA. I also had the opportunity to work 2 years with a pioneer in organic farming in Switzerland on the lake of Geneva. It is time for me to pass on the torch now, and share or hand down my experience and savoir faire.
A one year program for starters in farming who want to learn and study sustainable/organic farming, anywhere from growing their vegetables in their back yard, up to the ability to run a small to medium size family operation with live stock.
A 2 week trial period without tuition possible ( 2 days school ; 10 days work)
Summer: 6x8hr-day/week ; winter: chores 5x1h-day/week + school 2-3 1-hr lessons/day
Operating on 70 acres grass/hay
Current production: grass fed beef, vegetables fruits timber eggs
Projects: household dairy, egg mobile, pigs, bees, farmer's market
